Why We Built This

In Nepal, over 2.2 million people live with a disability affecting communication. Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals number in the hundreds of thousands. Blind and visually impaired Nepalis face similar challenges — yet almost no free, accessible, Nepali-language learning resources exist for their families, teachers, or communities.

What little exists is scattered, in English, behind paywalls, or designed for Western contexts completely disconnected from Nepal's reality. A teacher in Biratnagar, a parent in Pokhara, a student in Kathmandu — none of them should have to pay to learn how to communicate with the people they love.

SanketSiksha was built to change that. Nepal's first platform combining both Nepal Sign Language (NSL) and Braille — in Nepali — completely free, designed to work even on slow internet and cheap phones.
